Overall the race was well done, but I have a few items that concerned me.

Pre-race - Could not find course maps on the web, they said they were their I could not find them.

Swim - Ok
The swim took place in lake Ponchartrain. It was a two loop course where half of each loop had to be walked because of seaweed and water depth. If the course could have been one loop I think it would have helped with this problem, but the lack of water support is what I think prevented this from happening. There were life guards, but only two in boats, and no life guards on the outside of the course. If you got off course to the right you may never be found. Thankfully this never happened.

Bike - Good
The bike course was well done on some pretty good streets well done.

Run - Good
The run was contained in Fountainbleau State Park and was well supported on a day that saw 95 degree heat all of the aid stations had water, Gatoraid and Ice. It was very well done.

My final issue was timing chips. I have always been told if you lose your chip you are out of the race. Several people lost their chip on the swim, I suspect the seaweed helped this, but they were allowed to continue and even win their age group. I would like to hear how other feel about this. It really does not impact me since I am usally not in that group anyway.

FYI - Safty Pin your chip strap and you will not have to worry about losing it.

Just my 2 cent. Overall an OK race and I would do again.
