Speaking of nutrition - - I have been trying to figure out how to get "lean and mean" for the GTF. I couldn't figure out why I continued to gain weight even though I am cutting calories (I put on 10 lbs in 6 months). Well I finally saw a dietician and found out that, although I am 5'3" and weigh ~128 lbs, that I am technically obese, with almost 30% body fat (dietician used calipers to measure). Whoa!!!! That was an eye opener! No wonder I'm struggling to get stronger. Apparently my efforts to loose a few pounds have backfired. I was not eatting any where near enough food (nor the right kinds of food) for the volume of exercise and had basically forced my body into "starvation" mode. What little I was eatting was being stored as fat and I have been losing lean body weight (i.e., muscle) big time. Ideally, I should weigh about 120 lbs, 105-110lbs of which is muscle and 10-15lbs of fat. Apparently it is nearly impossible to loose the fat and gain 8/14/2012 7:25:04 PM
